3-temperature mixer
The 3-temperature mixer is used in conjunction with a buffer tank, which can be heated by a solar system, a solid fuel boiler or a conventional boiler.
If the consumer only requires a low temperature level, as in surface heating systems for example, the 3-temperature mixer first takes the flow water from the centre storage tank area. Only if the temperature in this area is no longer adequate is the water from the top, hot storage tank area used.
By using two areas of the storage tank for two different flow temperatures, the energy in the buffer tank can be used more efficiently. The return temperatures are low and the temperature layering in the buffer tank is preserved.
