immediately available Description Hot water temperature heating tape MTHW is a self-regulating heating cable that equalises heat loss from manifold systems for hot water. As soon as a hot water tap is not used continuously, the water cools in the manifolds and the water is mostly lost on the waterway from the source to the tap. MTHW does not overheat and does not become charred either if cables overlap. • For hot water pipes • Heating circuit length max. at 16 A: 128 m • Colour: Brown • Dimensions: 13 x 6.8 mm Electrical heat tracings don’t just guarantee frost-free operation, but also a constant cable and container temperature (operating temperature). The self-regulating cables consist of to metal wires guided in parallel, encapsulated in a semi-conductor relay PTC. When electric current is transported through the semi-conductor polymer to the other copper wire, a closed circuit is created. The polymer is heated by the current, whereby the resistance value rises. When the temperature of this conducting core rises, electrical resistance decreases and therefore the temperature does as well. This process takes place at every point along the cable. Therefore, energy efficiency is guaranteed, and overheating or combustion due to overloading is avoided. See catalogue
