All types up to and including 9 kW are star-connected with a common neutral conductor and can therefore be operated with PV current in conjunction with a load controller.

For use in hard water, descaling measures must be taken and/or the heating coil must be descaled (initially after 3 months, then at regular intervals). Limescale can trigger the safety limiter, or lead to thermal destruction and/or pitting of the heating coil, thus voiding the warranty!
